Mr. Tenzin, the Program Leader, formally welcomed the new cohort and congratulated them on their admission. In his address, he highlighted the critical role of mechanical engineering in national development and assured students that their choice of discipline would serve as a strong foundation for a meaningful career. He also encouraged them to remain goal-oriented, manage their time effectively, and take full advantage of the academic and co-curricular opportunities available during their college years.
Following the opening remarks, faculty members and technicians introduced themselves, sharing reflections from their own student days and offering candid perspectives on the challenges ahead. They urged students to approach the rigor of the program with determination and resilience, while reaffirming the department’s commitment to their success. The staff also called on everyone to work together in building a cohesive and mutually supportive departmental community.
The session then moved to an interactive segment, during which students introduced themselves and spoke about their career aspirations. Their contributions reflected a wide range of interests and ambitions, generating an atmosphere of enthusiasm and shared inspiration. In-service students, drawing on their professional experience, offered practical advice and expressed their willingness to mentor and support their younger peers throughout the year.
The program closed with a shared commitment from both staff and students to uphold a spirit of cooperation, mentorship, and collective responsibility for the term ahead. The Department looks forward to a productive and enriching year with its newest members.
