Mechanical Engineering Department Brings Global ANSYS Experts to CST for Three-Day Advanced Simulation Workshop

The Mechanical Engineering department, in collaboration with the ASHRAE CST Bhutan Student Branch and ARK Infosolutions Pvt. Ltd., India, successfully organised a three-day intensive workshop on ANSYS Mechanical and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), providing Mechanical Engineering students and faculty with hands-on training in one of the world’s leading engineering simulation platforms.

Conducted entirely free of cost through industry collaboration, the workshop reflects the department’s continued commitment to bringing globally recognised engineering technologies and industry expertise directly to students at CST. The programme enabled participants to gain practical experience in structural analysis, finite element analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), thermal simulations, and engineering design validation using professional software widely adopted across the aerospace, automotive, energy, manufacturing, and research sectors.

The workshop was delivered by a distinguished team of technical specialists from ARK Infosolutions, including Mr. Rohit, Vinay, Mr. Amit, Ms. Nimisha, Ms. Jigyasa Singh, and Mr. Jishnu Reghunath, who conducted interactive sessions over three days, combining engineering theory with real-world industrial applications and practical simulation exercises.

Speaking during the programme, Prof. Abhishek Agarwal, Dean of Mechanical Engineering, emphasised that exposure to advanced engineering simulation tools is becoming essential for modern engineers. He noted that strengthening partnerships with industry enables the department to provide students with practical, industry-oriented learning experiences that complement classroom teaching and enhance graduate employability. He also expressed appreciation to ARK Infosolutions for supporting the initiative and to the ASHRAE CST Bhutan Student Branch for co-organising the workshop.

The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, including Mr. Tenzin (PL), Mr. Damcho Wangchuk, Mr. Singye Wangchuk, Ms. Phurpa, Mr. Karma Dorji, and Mr. Churamoni, who actively engaged in the technical sessions throughout the three-day programme.

The successful completion of the workshop marks another significant milestone in the department’s efforts to strengthen industry–academia collaboration, promote digital engineering competencies, and equip future Mechanical Engineers with the advanced simulation skills increasingly demanded by global engineering industries.
