Mechanical Engineering Students Gain Hands-On Industrial Experience at Bhutan Brewery Pvt. Ltd.

The Mechanical Engineering Department is pleased to share that Mr. Jiten Sapkota and Mr. Kishor Kumar Ghalley are currently undertaking a three-month fully funded On-the-Job Training (OJT) at Bhutan Brewery Private Limited, one of Bhutan’s key industrial manufacturing facilities.

The students are attached to the Maintenance Department, where they are exposed to the realities of industrial engineering operations. Their daily responsibilities include attending plant maintenance requirements, assisting in troubleshooting mechanical issues, supporting routine and breakdown maintenance, and participating in the fabrication of components for new and ongoing projects within the plant.

This attachment provides direct exposure to real engineering challenges, including equipment reliability, preventive maintenance practices, fabrication work, and coordination with production teams. The experience closely aligns with the Mechanical Engineering curriculum, allowing students to apply concepts learned in manufacturing processes, machine design, workshop practice, and maintenance engineering to real industrial systems.

Supervisors at Bhutan Brewery Pvt. Ltd. have provided encouraging feedback on the students’ performance, highlighting their punctuality, active involvement, helpful attitude, and strong willingness to learn. The students’ ability to adapt to the industrial environment and work alongside experienced technicians and engineers reflects both their personal commitment and the practical orientation of their academic training.
