The Mechanical Engineering Department is pleased to share that Mr. Tenzin and Mr. Damcho Wangchuk, Assistant Lecturers in the programme, participated in the Australia–Bhutan Research Conference 2025, held in Thimphu from 3–5 December 2025.
As early-career academics contributing to teaching, project supervision, and student learning, their involvement in this international forum marks a constructive step in their professional development and academic engagement.
The conference brought together researchers, policymakers, and educators from Bhutan and Australia, providing an engaging platform for discussions on STEM integration, climate resilience, digital innovation, and sustainable development. These themes are closely aligned with the evolving priorities of engineering education and national development.
Both faculty members shared that the insights gained—particularly on technology-driven learning, human-centred design, and resilience-focused engineering—were valuable in strengthening their perspective as educators. Such exposure will support their ongoing contributions to curriculum enhancement, project guidance, and classroom teaching within the department.
The Mechanical Engineering Department appreciates their initiative and encourages all early-career educators to participate in academic platforms that broaden professional understanding and enrich the overall learning environment for students.
