The ASHRAE Student Branch, in collaboration with the Mechanical Engineering programme, conducted a three-day workshop titled “Design Smart with SolidWorks.” The session aimed to strengthen students’ design proficiency and develop practical skills in 3D modelling and mechanical component development.
Participants worked through guided exercises and hands-on activities, gaining experience in solid modelling, assembly creation, and design workflow fundamentals. The workshop provided students with practical insights into modern engineering design practices and helped build confidence in using SolidWorks for real-world applications.
The programme encouraged creativity and precision, reinforcing the importance of digital modelling tools in mechanical engineering. The workshop was coordinated by Mr. Karma Dorji and Mr. Damcho Wangchuk, who facilitated the sessions and supported students throughout the training.
Initiatives such as this continue to promote technical competence and foster an environment of innovation within the Mechanical Engineering programme.
