The Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, launched in 2023, provides a strong foundation in design, manufacturing, thermal sciences, automation, and HVAC technologies. The programme emphasizes hands-on learning through modern laboratories, CNC machining facilities, and industry-grade simulation tools, enabling students to apply engineering principles to practical problems.
Collaborations with partners such as Airbus, Cadence, Dassault Systèmes, Air Flow Pvt. Ltd., and local industries give students access to training, software, and real project exposure. These engagements strengthen technical skills, support internships, and introduce students to current industrial practices.
Students also explore HVAC and energy systems through laboratory work and applied coursework. Engagement with the ASHRAE Student Branch further enhances opportunities for competitions, scholarships, and international learning experiences.
The programme contributes to the community by offering consultancy and technical services for local industries, including design support, testing, and industrial assessments. Such activities enrich student learning and build meaningful connections with the engineering sector.
Graduates are prepared for careers in HVAC, manufacturing, energy systems, product design, industrial operations, and emerging technologies. With a focus on applied engineering and modern tools, the programme aims to develop competent, confident, and industry-ready engineers for Bhutan’s evolving technical landscape.
