Mr. Damcho Wangchuk, Lecturer from the Mechanical Engineering Department, participated in a three-day Research and Research Ethics Training Workshop held from 9–11 March 2026 at the College of Language and Culture Studies (CLCS), Taktse. The programme was organized by the Research and Development Division of the Royal University of Bhutan (RUB) and attended by faculty members from across RUB colleges.
The training focused on strengthening understanding of research ethics standards, institutional review procedures, and responsible research practices. Key sessions covered informed consent, protection of vulnerable populations, conflict of interest, data integrity, and research misconduct, along with the functioning of Institutional Review Boards (IRB/REB) and College Research Committees.
The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Lliam Harrison, Education and Research Consulting Manager at Huron Consulting Group, who served as a volunteer consultant during his visit to Bhutan.
Participation in such programmes supports ongoing efforts within the department to strengthen research practices and enhance supervision standards for student research activities.
Dean Prof. Agarwal appreciated the participation and encouraged continued engagement in professional development initiatives that contribute to academic quality and research culture within the department.
